Meeting called to order 12:03PM
Attendees: Wayne Kopp, Mike Kirkby, Dave Boyle, Jack Gjeldum, Dave Boyle, Dave Freni, Arnie Walker, Keith Van Emmerik, Russ Warren(1st half).
Approved minutes from previous 4/25/2024 Board meeting.
- Beginning October 1, 2024, Recreation games on Mondays and Thursdays will start 9:00am
- Registration period for 2025 league play will be November 1-18. Registration will be available at the Bray fields after games on Nov 4, 7, 11, 14 and 18.
- Russ will prepare BSS web site for 2025 league registration. Board members will test registration page this month, well before November 1st registration start. (Update since Board meeting: Russ has posted test page for Board members to use)
- Monday Recreation league will remain as is. The diverse skill mix of players did cause us to consider changes, but decision was to continue as is.
- Board decided to use the Baden 44/375 Balls for Monday Recreation, Tuesday Competitive and Thursday Competitive leagues. Dudley 52/300 will be used Thursday Recreation league at Palma Sola.
- 2025 league draft schedule is:
Tuesday Competitive – Dec. 2 Monday Recreation – Dec 5
Thursday Competitive — Dec. 9 Thursday Recreation — Dec 12
- For league play, confirmed league coordinators and managers will be able to select substitute players from bye team or sub list in contrast to the past process where bye team it was mandatory to go to bye team first before proceeding to Sub list. In making this change, the board also agreed players on the Sub list will be required to pay $10.
- Keith assumed Ken Krecji’s lead role on the Rating Committee. Keith provided an overview of a new, more detailed process that he is proposing the Rating Committee adopt. More information to follow by end of October.
- Keith also assumed the responsibilities for balls, tee shirts and hats from Ken. Keith provided status of existing stock and discussed his plan for the 2025 season, including providing shirts to league champions.
- David Freni will confirm umpires from last year will continue to umpire in 2025. The Board will continue to search for additional individuals interested in umpiring.
- Jack provided financial status, BSS is in good standing.
