Board of Directors Meeting Minutes – July 9, 2026

Meeting called to order 12:11 PM

Approved May 28, 2026 Board minutes

1. Wayne
   1. League age limit
      1. Discussed possibilities of lowering age limit to 55 to attract more players. Also discussed the downside of losing players that may decide not to play with younger, more competitive players.
      2. Jack agreed to send a mass email survey with a couple of questions: Do you agree with lowing the age limit to 55 and if age limit is lowered would it affect your playing in the league.
   2. Because of excessive heat and low player turnout, Monday and Thursday games have been suspended for the remainder of July and August with games resuming September 7.

Practices will be held Mondays and Thursdays for those who decide to attend.

Fields at Bray will be closed from July 20^th to August 15^th, so beginning Monday, July 20^th, practices will be held at Blackstone in Palmetto.  Practice will be returning to Bray Monday August 17^th if county field closures stay on schedule.

1. Ratings Committee
   1. Keith has received ratings input from team managers and league coordinators. He will organize information and present to the Board at a later date.
2. Keith
   1. Keith had discussions with Jeff Brooke about the league buying team shirts from Jeff’s company next season. It seems that Jeff can provide shirts for the same or lower price than we’ve been purchasing them for in the past.

Keith will check with Jeff about required lead time since we need shirts 3 weeks after draft is complete (December 10^th)

3. Rick S.
   5. Rick contacted LECOM/Marauders to see if it was possible to set up a BSS promotion/outreach table at a Marauders game(s). The response was positive and we have selected September 5.  Rick is looking at BSS give-away options and will report back to the board.
   6. Rick asked if it would be feasible to have a 1 day, 8 team tournament at Bray with teams from neighboring communities to help publicize and create interest in BSS. Board will discuss further at a future meeting.
4. Jack
   1. BSS is in good financial standing

5. Dates for 2027 league play are were discussed at May 28 board meeting and were reiterated today:
   1. Registration – 10/23/26 – 11/13/26
   2. Competitive League Draft – 11/30/26 and 12/03/26
   3. Recreation League Draft – 12/07/26 and 12/10/26
   4. Leagues start play week of 01/04/27 and end week of 3/29/27
