Board of Directors Meeting Minutes – March 20, 2025

Meeting called to order 12:30PM

Approved January 30th, 2025 Board minutes

Remainder of leagues schedules and beginning of pick-up games

  • Monday Rec league ends season Monday, March 31.
  • Thursday Rec league ends play Thursday March 27.
  • Tuesday Competitive league ends league play with tournament on Tuesday April 1.
  • Thursday Competitive league ends with tournament on Thursday March 27
  • Pick-up games beginning Thursday April 3 at 9am. Following weeks will be Mondays and Thursdays pick-ups.

Dispersion of among Board member – Keith

  • Keith presented a matrix of league duties divided up among board members.
  • Board accepted assignment of duties.

Enforcement of rules and umpire/player conflicts

  • Disagreements must be handled between managers and umpires only, NOT players.
  • Board agreed with latest version of “runner maintaining contact with base” rule. See below.

Base runner must maintain contact with the base until CONTACT has been made between bat and pitched ball.  Runner will be called out if he/she makes a move off the base to advance to the next base on a swing and miss or when the pitched ball hits home plate or ground.  Once pitched ball hits ground or home plate, ball is dead and base runner is allowed to break contact with base until play resumes.

Monday league competitiveness

  • Board agreed to continue with Monday league being open to all skill levels.

Finances – Jack

  • BSS finances continue to be in good standings.

Pick-up games – monthly board members assignments

  • April – Walker; May – Kirkby; June – Boyle; July – Freni; August – Kopp; September – Van Emmerik; October – Walker; November – Boyle; December – Freni
