- Addressed a player’s suggestion of playing all BSS Thursday games at Bray if we have 5 teams in each league.
Board agreed Bray cannot accommodate both leagues at Bray (4 fields required) because:
- Bray will not allow us to use the field dedicated to women’s school softball during our season play.
- Inadequate storage space for both Competitive and Recreation Leagues.
- Recap of Sarasota games. All went well and players enjoyed. Didn’t attract as many Sarasota players to join BSS as would have liked.
Suggestion for next games in the future is to include recreation games as well, using one field for competitive and another for recreation.
- PR activities such as the electronic signs at the entries to Bray, banners on the field fences and hand-outs are continuing, but not attracting players as much as we anticipated. Will continue PR efforts.
- Tuesday lost 2 managers this year, but we also lost 1 team. Tuesday league managers are Keith Van Emmerik, Vinnie Ulliano, Bob Hall and Greg Lewandowski.
- Decided all rated players are eligible to play in the Monday league.
- For future year registration, players will be required to pay at the time of registration. This year’s process of paying after registration has caused confusion and having to remind players to pay.
- Draft dates are:December 1 – Thursday Competitive
December 4 – Tuesday Competitive
December 8 – Monday Recreation
December 11 – Thursday Recreation
- For this league year, sponsor logo will continue to be on front of shirt with BSS logo on sleeve. Thought was given to have sponsor logo on back and BSS logo on front, but concern was raised over not having sponsor logo on front for pictures.
- Board decided when a person has been taken from field by EMS, player cannot return to play without a written confirmation from his doctor approving his return.
- Subs are required to pay $10 for the season. If they get picked up as a permanent team player, the player will be required to pay a pro-rated amount of the $50 registration fee minus the $10. paid for being a sub.
- David Freni will be scheduling a meeting on December 15th at Bray for all, managers, coordinators board members, umpires and rules committee members to review League General Rules and both Competitive and Recreation Rules, highlighting recent changes that have been made.
- Finances – BSS is in good financial standing.
December 18th is the next Board meeting.
